To ensure that the FJORD sofa is more than just a regular leather, feather-filled classic sofa, we added a little twist to its design. The wooden legs are integrated into the supporting structure of the sofa, rather than just being screwed in or made out of the same piece of wood. 

By adding that design element, we managed to give the wooden legs a twist and allow for an overlap of the wood and the leather fabric of the sofa. That, as you can see in the pictures, gives the FJORD sofa a more balanced and modern look. The legs create a good contrast with the classic design of the sofa itself and give the piece some edge.

The Shape Of Your Perfect FJORD

Modular sofas are one of the most popular sofas on the market. There’s a logical reason behind that; they can adapt to not only your space but also your needs and desires. The FJORD sofa is no different. It has several different categories of modules that you have at your disposal and which you can use to create your perfect FJORD sofa. 

By mixing and matching the modules, you can create:

• Two-seater FJORD sofas
• Three-seater FJORD sofas
• Corner sofas
• FJORD armchairs

The standard FJORD sofa is 80 cm tall in total. Out of that 80 cm, 44cm is the height of the seating area. The depth of the sofa is 100 cm in total, while the seat depth is 61 cm.

Of course, that’s just the basic FJORD sofa. Let’s see what you can create with a little bit of imagination.

The Two-Seater FJORD Sofa

If you click on the “Customise It” button at the top of the page, you’ll see that the FJORD sofa comes in two different sizes. One is 195 cm long, while the other is 225 cm long. Therefore, the FJORD sofa comes in two-seater and a three-seater sizes. 

However, it also comes with three different categories of modules. The first category, pertaining the two-seater FJORD sofa, has the basic two-seater FJORD sofa, which is actually module 22. That particular module is 195 cm long and 100 cm deep.

Aside from that one, this category of modules also has:

• Module 20, which is a middle part, ideal for creating long corner sofas or U-shaped sofas. This module is 145 cm long and 100 cm deep.
• Module 21, which is a left-end module, that has 170 cm in length and 100 cm in depth.
• Module 23, which is identical to module 21, except it’s a right-end module.

You can combine these three modules to create one extra-long FJORD sofa, or combine them with the modules from the other two categories.

The Three-Seater FJORD Sofa

The three-seater sofa gives you more options. First of all, the modules from the category that pertains to the three-seater can be combined amongst themselves. But, you can also arrange them with the modules from the previous (and the following) category.

The three-seater category contains:

• Module 270, which is a middle module that’s 175 cm long and 100 cm deep.
• Module 271, which is a longer version of module 21, and has 200 cm in length.
• Module 273, which is a longer version of module 23, and has 200 cm in length.

Of course, there’s also module 272, which is the basic three-seater FJORD sofa. It’s 225 cm in length and 100 cm in depth. If you’re not looking to bother with arranging modules, but you still want a larger sofa, then module 272, or a three-seater FJORD sofa, is the ideal choice.

The Corner FJORD Sofa

One of the beauties of modular sofa is that they are adaptable. It doesn’t matter what type of sofa you’re looking for; the FJORD sofa can easily transform into the exact thing you need. 

Therefore, if you’re looking for a corner sofa that’s contemporary and timeless at the same time, look no further than the FJORD sofa. By combining the modules from the previous two categories, with the following, you’ll easily create the perfect corner sofa for your office or living room:

• Module 71, which is a left-corner module, has 180 cm in depth and 100 cm in length
• Module 73, which is the right-corner equivalent of the previous module

It’s important to note that the FJORD sofa also has several stand-alone modules that you can add to your sofa combo. These modules are either add-ons or pieces of the FJORD collection. They are:

• Module 80, which is essentially a footstool that’s 90 cm long and 75 cm deep.
• Module 90, which is an end piece that allows you to create a four or more-seater FJORD sofa, without incorporating the corner sofa modules. This piece is 110 cm long and 110 cm deep.
• Module 195, which is an extra cushion (50x35 cm).

The Wonderful FJORD Collection

If you’re completely redecorating your living room or giving your office a new design, then you’ll be happy to hear that the FJORD sofa isn’t a solitary piece of furniture. In fact, as you can gather from the previous chapters, some of the available modules can stand as stand-alone pieces. 

In total, the FJORD collection has five pieces:

• a two-seater FJORD sofa
• the short or extra-long three-seater FJORD sofa
• an armchair
• a footstool

Even though a lot of UNIQAT pieces are products of the wonderful teamwork in the stellar and talented design team, the FJORD sofa, as well as the entire FJORD collection, was designed by Zoran Jedrejcic. 

Inspired by his European heritage as well as his Italian education, Mr Jedrejcic first created alongside Ettore Sottsass before he opened his own design studios. Industrial designer at heart, he creates pieces that are nothing short of works of art. The FJORD collection is a shining example of that, given that it has that industrial, contemporary influence with traditional vibes.

Exceptional Material Choice

The raw materials that make the FJORD sofa what it is are dried beech and high-quality foam. The supporting structure of the sofa is made out of plywood, chipboard, and dried beech. This particular combination of materials makes the sofa light but sturdy. Here at UNIQAT, we make designer pieces that last for decades to come, which is more than you’ll find at any other sofa shop. 

Aside from the supporting structure, the FJORD sofa also has high-quality RG 30 foam and RG 25 foam (which is ergonomic) in backrests, armrests, and seating, as well as feather-filled cushions. The padding also includes thermal bonded cotton batting as well as coil springs. 

One of the biggest eye-catchers is the leather material. The FJORD sofa is originally a leather beauty. • Cherry; if you’re a fan of red undertones but would still like to keep things subtle, then go with the cherry legs.
• Mahogany; depending on the type and colour fabric you go for, mahogany legs can really take your FJORD sofa to the next level.
